THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A HEAVY SNOW WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST THIS MORNING.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ACROSS THE WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO WILL MOVE NORTHEAST THIS MORNING AND PUSH INTO NORTH FLORIDA THIS EVENING. THIS WILL PRODUCE A LARGE SHIELD OF PRECIPITATION ACROSS SOUTH MISSISSIPPI AND EAST CENTRAL LOUISIANA THIS MORNING. PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW WILL OCCUR OVER MANY AREAS SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 20 THROUGH MID MORNING. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE.

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING MEANS THAT HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS.

There is a good powder of it at your Mama's house, RGD, and it's still coming down. It's about 35 degrees so it's not all sticking. There's a layer of sleet and slush with it. There's enough for your precious young 'uns to make a snowball or too though! I don't think your sweet Mama will work in the yard today...but, with her, you never know!

Still snowing big flakes in Brookhaven. But, the ground is starting to get slushy and melt some. Strange that the temps are rising but the snow is still coming down steadily.

Looking at the radar this morning, it appeared that a small leg of snow came down over Hattiesburg, stopping pretty much at the south end of town. We just barely got snowed, but it's still covering the yards in the neighborhood.

I wish I had some seasoned firewood... :(

I'm jealous...it snowed during christmas vacation when I was at jones...of course the dorms were closed and I was on the coast...now I leave hattiesburg and it snows again....dammit!!!!!

Reports coming in that snow is still on the ranch and also in Waynesboro from someone there. Tonights low temp to be around 22*F. I'm sure you all saw the 15 minutes of sunshine just before the sun went down. Tomorrow should bring more sun and temps up close to 50*F, possibly just mid 40's but with the sun out the radiant heat will bring things back to near normal and at least there won't be any water pipes breaking.

I can't believe this. My roof, deck, and other parts of my yard are STILL covered with snow. I am sure it will be gone tomorrow since it's supposed to rain, but I don't remember the last time snow has stuck around this long.

Yeah it was pretty good, not sure how much we got but that was about 7 in the morning we got more than that but I didn't take another picture.
