Does anyone here enjoy scrapbooking for a hobby?

Crawls, I enjoy sewing and gardening and have always said when I have time I would love to get started scrapbooking.
Do you scrapbook?

Yes, I love too. I have not had much of a chance to do it recently, but I am tying to get back in to it again.

I have a ton of pictures and keepsakes that I have put up that I would like to put together in a scrapbook. I wouldn't know where to start!
Isn't there a certain type of paper one uses?

You can really use any kind of paper as long as it is acid-free and lignin-free. It can really destroy your pictures.

I started something like this years ago and kind of got lazy at it. I had 3 books: The Book of People, The Book of Animals and The Book of Oil.
This thread by you may give me incentive to get back on it and do some catching up.
I would now need to add The Book of Motorcycles and maybe The Book of Internet.

I don't have the skill or patience to do something like this.
My wife(CRawls) is really good at it.I always liked the finished product.
I just wish she had more time to pursue it.

I have been bad and not did anything to mine in about 2yrs. I have just been so busy with our son and work. The only time I got to work on it since he was born, was when I was at work in the phone room at my old job. I have since been back to school and started a new job. I am fixing to take the time for myself to get started again, but that will not last long. Only about 3 months. I enjoy doing it, but more for my family.

Flowergirl, When I first started, I was told to start from the present and then go back.

My daughter and grandaughter both scrapbook and love it. Ande (the daughter) goes to scrapbooking parties. I have minimal supplies and haven't done a whole lot yet.

I use to go to parties, but I have just gotten out of doing it. I have a lot of supplies that are just piled up right now. One day in the near future, I am going to get a community center or some where I can just spread out to remember what all I have.

That's the way I am about the sewing room. It needs to be as least twice the space if not more.

back in my dad the parental units took pics on a 110 camera and stuck them into this "photo album' thing of a jig-
we tried the same thing for 2 minutes- and you can guess how that turned out-
i wish michelle would do something like that for becca mainly-

Ahh well, since that ain't gonna happen anytime soon, you might want to consider a little reorganization. Duh?

I love looking at scrapbooks. And, it's like other hobbies, there just never seems enough time, or space to get everything together and get started. I have trouble sticking with projects that are on-going - I like to start something and see it finished.
I'd love to see some of the books you all have put together. Maybe it would encourage me to get started with my own scrapbook.

My wife is into scrapbooking, she's doing one for each of our girls, a vacation one, etc. Geez, she's even got a backpack thing she totes her stuff around in. She's been to a few scrapbooking 'parties', and hosted a few here at our house, I always left, cuz I didn't want to be around so many women, ya know. But, I'd always return early and make a comment like, "Wow, there's a whole lotta scrapping going on here! Where's the beer?!" She didn't like that.......
