Crysis is the most impressive-looking game on the market today, but so far, only few players with very high-end rigs have been able to play the game in all its visual glory. However, it has been rumored for months now that Crysis would be making its way onto home video game consoles. That console would be Sony’s PlayStation 3, if the latest rumor from GamesRadar (http://www.gamesradar.com/us/ps3/game/previews/article.jsp?sectionId=1001&articleId=20080116164640708073&releaseId=20070209104752229059) proves true.

According to the gaming website, insiders at Crytek have this week let slip that a port of Crysis is on the way for PlayStation 3 owners, carrying extra game modes as well as extra features over the PC version. Crysis is an absolute beast to try and run even on the most bleeding edge of hardware and current speculation indicates that only Sony’s console would be capable of hosting the game. But as impressive a piece of gaming kit the PS3 may be, I doubt it’ll be able to fully handle the visual powerhouse that is Crysis on the PC unless some aesthetic scale back is done. That said, Crysis on the PS3 is just a rumor for now.

I bet this will be a big hit on PS3.

It'll be a massive hit on the PS3. A guy I work with borrowed my PC copy but the game wouldn't even launch because his rig wasn't up to snuff. But he does have a PS3 and got excited when he read last week it was coming out.
I haven't had the chance to play it yet since I'm involved in Call of Duty 4 on my PC right now. Along with Mario Galaxy on the Wii and Rock Band on the PS2.

of course itll be a hit on the ps3

thats the only game worth owning on that platform so those few million ps3 owners will run out and grab it

i know i would

my machine at home definitely doesnt have the horsepower to run it...

i might purchase it to run on my work machine though....

LOL I downloaded the demo on my server at school and it gave a warning message that said I did not have a proper video card and it could lead to a fatal error. The first time I have seen that , most of the time even if you dont have a video card it will still run it , it just wont play it good I have never seen a game stop you from playing because you didnt have one. The computer is dual core 2.8ghz, with two gigs of ram yadda yadda yadda. I was gonna try playing it on low. :(

Dude csg its gonna be awhile lol , depending on what crysis demo you download though its anywhere from 1.5gb to 3 gb. I downloaded a 2.6 gb one , we get pretty good dl rates on campus 300-400kb/s . Those updates are what is killer I think I had to restart the Wow game three times and hours of downloads before I could finally play.

From what I understand, Crysis is coming to the PS3 so if you don't have a PC that can run, there's that option.
