Underground Pizza?

My husband and I were talking the other day about Underground Pizza for some reason, now it has been about 3 years since I had it. Does anybody know if he is still up and running? That was the best stuff when you were drunk late at night!

may i ask if this is like a tax free cottage industry? i've seen some tv news lately about a new controversial thing some chefs are doing in the folks home with many invited guests who just somehow guess correctly what they're supposed to leave in the subtle tip jar for such services.

I think it implies a way of doing business. Like, I knew this lady that did nothing but make hot tamales in her house, freeze them by the dozens, and then sell them to restaurants and bars who would simply put them in a crock pot and sell them retail. They were much better than any commercially produced tamale but I no tink she had health certified kitchen or tax number. I see nothing wrong with it if you know the person you're buying from and trust them to run a sanitary operation.

Hawk is right. This guy makes pizza but only late at night and delivers it to you. It has always been good and it use to be pretty cheap, like I said it has been a while and prices might have gone up since then. But it was always well worth it!!!

I used to pack heat 22 years ago when I was working part time at an unamed pizza delivery place to save up for paramedic school. If the area I was delivering in was bad, my hand in the hot bag was holding a model 66 under the box. Never had to use it.

only 3 types-

cheeze only

meat only

all the meats only

and i think the meats only was like a buck more-

geez when we lived on 18th we'd order 5 or 6 at a time, and he knew exactly where to go with them

and he delivers here at our house in the hood of OG.........

i don't think so...we had to meet him in downtown h'burg the last time we got it...he runs a pretty short shift so he has to make his stops close and quick.

Underground Pizza is the best. You have to order after 10 p.m. because, like Taco Bell, it's not any good before then. Actually, I don't recommend Taco Bell until after midnight.

Thanks to those who pm'd me in my quest to try some of this great pizza. My oldest son thanks you also, who said he and his buddies used to make the call from time to time and said he'd like to give him a call again. :D

I totally forgot about him. His pizzas are indeed very cheap and tasty. I remember back in the day when he first started that side job. Not too many folks knew about it and I wondered how long it would take for word to get around and get him in trouble...then we would no longer have good, cheap late night pizza anymore. lol I was stingy with that number. (teehee)
