We are told, for it is in scripture, that the gate is narrow and the way (path) is narrow that follows and leads to the Lord. We all know how difficult it is to not stray off the path. Everyday it seems we are bombarded, literally, with distractions, burdens, and basically total bull crap too lead us or knock us off the narrow way, and shows us that the wide gate and wide path are easier to transgress. How do y'all deal with it? I find myself angry, often, at the things and people who lead me astray, but then I remember, that the Bible tells us, that we SHALL be persecuted, we SHALL be tried and tested. And then, I calm down, because I know all I have to do, is just turn away from it. It is part of His plan. Persevere!

Although I fail often, I try to keep my focus on God by praying. If I can stay in a prayerful 'place' then it's possible that the distractions, burdens and other people won't pull me as far off the path as far as I would have strayed otherwise.
I've been through so many things since my husband died 6 years ago that I've learned I HAVE to trust 100% in God's ability to see me through anything - friends, family, colleagues - there's no one in the world who you can completely trust or who will provide the kind of help and support God can provide.
Don't get me wrong - you have to surround yourself with Godly supporters, but even Jesus trusted no one. I guess this is part of God's plan too - that we trust completely in Him to take care of every need, every situation and every turn in our paths. You're right BP, at times it's very, very hard and at other times (usually when it should be the hardest) trusting God makes the narrow path seem like a breeze.
