I feed hummingbirds every year from march to november. Feeders are hanging everywhere around the house. I have a fiew flowers I pamper for them but I want a garden full. I have the perfect place outside our bedroom window. Can anyone suggest flowers or how to plan a garden like this?

Anything red, I think. We have a red hibiscus we keep on the deck in the summer, and they visit that often. We even had some fake red flowers in a wreath on our front door, and they came up to them all the time.

Yes, anything brightly colored. They love my red and yellow Canna Lilies and they bloom all summer.

Red Trumpet vines and Mimosa trees, Cannas, Gladiolas, and Red Morning Glory (Starflower). For some reason, they actually prefer red flowers.

They really liked the zinnias that I planted last year and the butterflys flocked to them also. They are easy to start from seed too!

Hummingbird, Look for flowers that have tubular throated blooms. Hummingbirds like them. They zoom in on red, but will "sip" from most any nectar producing plant. Cuphea's and salvia's are favorites for himmingbirds and butterflies love them too!

It is also great that you have planned more than one station for them to feed at. Male birds are territorial and we get much entertainment from watchng trespassers sneak in and the dog fight that ensues when the resident male hummingbird realizes his turf has been invaded. More stations allow for some sneaking in...
