Sounds like a pretty big undertaking, but hey, I hope he can pull it out and make it work. Very impressive.

I'll have to give it a try when I'm down that way after the first of March.

Thanks for the post! Did some work in there last week. It will be beautiful. I'll bet the 300 bottle wine "vault" is the existing bank vault. Lots of old marble, etc. And another music venue!!! Getting better all the time! (vague Beatles reference...) These music-minded owners are making it happen. I wish them the best of luck!!!!

I hope they make it, at least it's not another Mexican restaurtant/cantina.

Yeah, nor chicken wings or pizza joint!

From the sound of it, the owners have put alot of thought into it...I wish them good luck!

Now it will be yet to be seen if the Laurel government can act stupid enough to run them out of town like they did most of the new money places that were moving in during the late 90's.

Hey Capitalist, maybe Jimbo could play there, huh?

I don't see why not! He played in Hattiesburg last week, but I missed it. I haven't been in Laurel much since I left 20+ years ago. Don't have a good handle on the music scene. I did see where Grayson Capps played the Arabian a couple of weeks ago. Anyone know what kind of turnout? He is pretty good.
Judging from the turnout at the Bottling Co. for Sammy Kershaw, country is the biggest draw. I suspect that would be the case in Laurel, also. Jimbo, up until recently, was pretty booked up touring with the Squirrel Nut Zippers. His incarnation, the Starlight Wranglers, was pretty countrified! The HB show was a duo, i think.

I didn't know he was in Hattiesburg. Would have liked to see him. Last time was nearly 4 years at juke joint festival in Clarksdale.

Tighten up!! Last time for me was 5/20/07 at the Crawdad Hole in Jackson. New incarnation, Starlight Wranglers. The Knockdown South band is no more.

If he played at the Crawdad Hole, must still be blues, right?

Pretty much Jimbo fried country for that one!
