I was at the parade tonight in downtown Mobile and happened to run into a girl who was in school with me at USM and with whom I worked on a number of projects over the years. Turns out that it is her family's home. She lives in Atlanta, and came down to help build the home. Her family is in Arizona right now; they've been given tickets to the Super Bowl tomorrow. She was getting beads for the production crew, who was back at the homesite.

What a small world this is.

I was told Friday morning about this family by someone that I work with. The teacher of the youngest boy use to be a teacher at Petal and is still good friends with the lady that I work with. She said that the family really needs all the help they can get. The teacher said that there was a lot of paper work involved that she had to do for them.

It is nice to see some of these "fix-it" shows do houses in the south. I know there have done a couple of houses on the MS Gulf Coast as well as in N.O. If anyone is interested "This Old House" on PBS (Saturday afternoons) is working on a house in N.O. It is going to be a nice makeover but the woman that is having the work done doesn't look like she is on her last leg...she appears to be very well off.
