Open up the case and blow it out and clean the fans and then if that don't work call pooker or beat on it with a hammer.

If you have set restore points, during start-up, I think it's f-10, roll it back to a restore point and see what happens. If that don't work, beat it with a 16lb sledge and take pics.

Make your morning even worse. Get on the phone and talk with some guy from India for 3 or 4 hours that keeps telling you to do the same thing over and over and over and over.....then get the sledge hammer out. I'm going to have a great morning talking to ATT trying to find out why my bill doubled this month.....after I spent about 5 hours straightening it out last month..I hate ATT but have no other option to get dsl.

And you can try the Safe Mode attempt. Crank it off, as it's starting up keep pressing F8 continuously until it gets lit off.
At least if you can get it up you can run your back up programs, maintenance programs, look around for problems ...
and then call Pooker.

Reboot and hit F8, like Guru said. From there you can sometimes say which processes to start. Run just the basics plus your antivirus stuff and give your hard drive a good scan.

If anything, reformat your harddrive and load Windows again, or some Linux variation.

Or, you could say the hell with it, and go fish.

It's too wet to go fishing but I may ride out to the feed mill in a little bit, sit around the heater and solve some real world problems.

Get an Apple

Only once in 20+ years have I ever seen the "Frown" when the Apple starts up - it was scary! But, a computer dude was able to fix it somehow.

Apple Frown = Windows Blue Screen
