We Thank You Lord....

I find it comforting at the end of the day to let God know how thankful I am for the blessings He has given...and it helps to remind me to be grateful for what I receive everyday.


I am thankful tonight for a wonderful evening with family. For catfish, and green beans and new potatoes.

I am thankful that someone watered my tomatoe plants while we were away on a fishing trip!

I am thankful that the ear surgery went well for my grandson and that he is almost 100% himself from the anesthesia.

I am grateful that he liked the dr and went with him willingly instead of kicking and screaming...and waved goodbye from the door...

I am grateful to live in a free country where we are welcome to worship and live as we choose. And I am thankful that I believe...

Thank you Father, for my blessings.

I'm very thankful that everyone on the float trip got home safely and that nobody stepped on the snake in Fotno_'s driveway.
I'm thankful that the families and couples that went on the trip got to spend that time away from the ways of this world and had that time together.
I'm thankful that there are pictures so that I could feel like I was there. You can't always be where you want to be at every moment but things like this give you the chance to feel like you were.

Next, I'm glad that I didn't crack somebody over the head for piling a bunch of paperwork up right next to my office that I got cleaned out this afternoon.

Lord sometimes I think you are testing my ingenuity by letting me tear up everything I touch one day and then letting me fix them the next.

Sometimes we're just so overwhelmed by the ways of this world that we have created, exacted and perpetuated upon ourselves. But we kind of expanded on what you gave us and we got used to it, so here we are.

Even in South Mississippi, the Amazon jungle of North America where overgrown grass is like a bad haircut, there's always a good one underneath (a clean clipped yard) just waiting to come out.

For all other frustrations and sadness, just thanks for being there with me till the cloud lifts a little.

What a nice way of putting it. A positive emotion in such a negative world. A benefit. We complain daily about the government and the high cost of living, and we sometimes forget to acknowledge the goodness that happens during the day and night. We are so focused on what's wrong with our lives, that sometimes we fail to remember what is right. Help me Lord to focus on the positive...help me to continue to be optimisic!

I'm so grateful for the testimony shared with me this morning by a lady whose son had died of an overdose at age 25. Her strength, her ability to forgive the one who had sold her son the drugs, her faith in God and her compassion really touched me. Thank you God for allowing our paths to cross and for her story. It makes me grateful for the relationship I have with my son and it encourages me to keep things in perspective.

Thank you God for reminding me that everything you allow to happen has a purpose - and that purpose is to glorify you!

My daughter came over earlier today to ask to borrow my camera. Of course I let her...not knowing her reason, and she came back tonight and put the pictures she had taken on the computer to print out. Her mother in law is losing her fight with her heart. My daughter got all the grandchildren together today (which isn't easy when they live in different states) and took a great picture, and we printed out an 8 x 10 to take to the hospital for her mother in law...I am blessed to have such a caring daughter. I hope I never take things like this for granted....

Tonight when I went walking there was such a cool breeze...the humidity was high, but the breeze was so nice...and then the sunset started becoming more and more prominant...it was gorgeous...the white egret birds were flying, about a dozen of them...every lap I made around the pond, the sunset became more pronounced...the shades were everycolor of the rainbow nearly...with some exceptional soft mint greens thrown in....God knows how much I love sunsets...I hope someone else enjoyed the one tonight...as much as I did....

It's been too many days since I took the time to be grateful...and it's so easy to think of things that happen during the day that were unexpected pleasures and surprises. I'm grateful that I still have family that knows all about me...my history, and things they remember from when I was a child. Watching my grandbaby interact with a great grandaunt...since my parents can't be here, its the closest thing I have to compare it too..for her to comment about the love she sees pass between the grandson and I....for watching him explore his world and see the wonder in his eyes...People who think miracles don't happen anymore need to come spend a day with me! I am truly blessed!

I am thankful for all of the beautiful wildlife that I got to see yesterday... A Golden Eagle, cranes, a hawk, swans, geese, ducks, caribou, seals, and the polar bear that I missed seeing on my docks up here at work.... I am so blessed and so thankful to be able to live and work in such a beautiful world!

I am also thankful for all of the wonderful people here, whose sweet spirits bring me much happiness.
