Stopped in Purvis today, this afternoon, to fill up with gas and a storm had passed through the East side of town and knocked out all the electricity. The girl at the new Chevron gas station said that there was a lot of lightening. She said at the time, about 2:30 maybe, that it had been out for an hour already.

I went into town and both the Keith's station had lightening knock all their cash registers out and they could do no business.
So, the Shell station in town was the only thing selling.

Ran into a lot of rain off and on coming home from New Orleans and saw a fairly bad wreck just North of Picayune. Looked like somebody had hydroplaned off a bluff on I-59 but the little car was upright about 30' below the bluff on the side of the highway. Emergency people were already there, I didn't stop.

There is supposed to be more rough weather coming tonight I heard so I think I will be on lock down for the remainder of the evening. Not like I was going anywhere but it IS a real good excuse to sit in the recliner and watch the History channel.

Emergency vehicles around that time headed down Burnt Bridge Rd. toward Purvis. Lg. Firetruck, tanker, and another. Assumed it was a fire w/ the tanker.

Glad you are safe.

The weather was pretty wicked in Pearl River Co. today, and I just love being out in it. NOT! I guess I should be used to it by now, but some how at the end of the day--I always feel like I need a xanex. http://www.thepointofnoreturn.us/images/smilies/wacko.gif
