View Full Version : What're you shooting with?

Someone asked me what camera I was using to shoot these photos. All the photos I've put up so far were shot with a Canon Digital Rebel that I bought in late 2004. It got so expensive to shoot black and white film that I was able to convince the Mrs. to let me drop nearly a grand on this camera. To date, I've taken over 3500 photos with it. This camera is perfect for me. This is a photo of the camera with the standard 18mm - 55mm lens attached.

I have a 75mm - 300mm telescopic lens, which when converted to digital is actually 112mm - 450mm. It's incredibly handy when trying to focus in on a particular detail.

I would love to purchase a true fisheye lens, but I don't have $700 laying around (unless y'all want to take up a collection)...

But enough about me. What are you using?

It's not just the photographer...its the tools!!!! *teasing just a touch!*

I, on my limited housewifey budget, have a Fuji FinePix 4.1
It does what I need it to do....and travels really well...If I forget it in my pocket,
I don't worry....It's replaceable...and it's gone through dropping, being squashed, and having a grandson give it a liberal dose of drool!
Thanks for asking!

Nice camera's you got there SMT...and nice job using them! ;)

I have two: the new one and the old one
New one Nikon d60: http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/ProductDetail.page?pid=25438

Old one Sony Cybershot:
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665309158

I have not had the chance to use the new one enough to even pretend how to use it. The pictures I have taken have been great!

Does anyone know where photography classes are taught? Like an adult ed class?

A standard Sony Mavica. I kind of left the manual stuff years ago, just didn't have the time anymore and that was sad.

Yes it does. I got the idea years ago of getting one of these because of that and because they are basically indestructable in industry.
Been a good camera.

I had one (Sony Mavica) right before the one I have now...then when my new computer DIDN'T have a disc drive for floppys, I changed cameras...it was a great little camera though!

I think this Mavica has a memory stick in it for computer download but because it came with the easy floppy disc I just always used that.

and my 70-300mm lens. Can we say heavy? Probably not for a man.

Heres a picture I took on vacation in Ark, last year as we were passing by. It's a bit too soft.

I have seen lots of pictures taken with that camera and it is awesome! The picture of the dog below was taken with the Olympus Evolt 500 and the Zuiko 40-150mm, f3.5-4.5"
