Potts Camp, MS. If you don't know what to do this weekend, check this out. Great show, great artists, great venue. Nothing like it. 2nd annual event, for charity. Relatives of some hill country blues legends, as well as long time side men. Luther Dickinson of North MS Allstars. Fife and drum. Dammit boy! My buddy will be taping the entire event...

Update: Burnside Exploration had Luther, Cody, and Jim Dickenson, as well as Gary Burnside on bass! Luther and Cody are the guitarist and drummer for the North MS Allstars, and Jim is his well known father. Gary is of the legendary Burnside family! Long live R. L. Burnside! Sounds like some hill country blues explosions! Two days of live music coming my way. Fresh music. Keep me entertained all week...

I lived 7 months of my life in Potts Camp. there is a small state lake their right outside of town. I fished it almost everyday to deal with working up there. We built a sawmill right behind the truck stop on the highway. The cashier at the truckstop would get on the cb radio and say the menu faster than anything you could ever listen too. the little cafe in the truck stop had some of the best damn food in Mississippi and two of the prettiest waitresses to ever grace Mississippi. I have some fond memories of the place, but I don't want to spend any length of time their again. We eventually went back and cut the sawmill down and moved it to Muscle Shoals AL.

Cool. Never been there. I do know there was a creek at/near the venue that people would sit in to cool off.
