I've been watching the fireworks from someplace in Collins all week. It's 9 miles away but I'm on a kind of high hill in the cow pasture.
I guess they have been practicing.

Might go down to Lake Serene and watch clan Doherty shoot each other with bottle rockets and small sip some Makers Mark. Just a sip.

Going to the in-laws, gonna have a party in their shop/barn. We usually do a bonfire outside and shoot firecrackers. Inside the shop is a fireplace for when we get sho'nuf cold. Oh, and drink beer and eat a lot of grilled items, such as sausage, burgers, dogs, bratwurst, etc. Can't wait to feel my arteries harden up a little more.

Every year one of my New Year's resolutions is to get more home projects done but that has been going on for years and I keep my nose to the grindstone so you would think I would have it all done by now. I'm wondering if there is ever a point that you reach when you have it all done and can have resolutions to slow down some.
So this year I'm making a resolution to get more home projects done, hahaha.
Also to loose some weight I have gained from sitting behind a desk for the last year and a half.
Also to get back in full-sprint in-shape mode at my ripe old age.

Babysitting the grandbabies New Year's Eve.
For all those traveling around town, please do be careful and watchful. Bet there will be a lot of road blocks out tonight.
Happy New Year to one and all.:)

Going to my brother's house - he's smoking a whole turkey, a ham, and a pork tenderloin right now (I'll bet he's freezing!!!!). And my sister has added a bunch of stuff to go with it. My contribution is a pecan pie!!! (I fed everyone for Thanksgiving & Christmas - so I'm resting for this meal!!)

The roast is on, the black eyed peas have been soaking over night, I will add the ham bone with ample ham, onions, celery, bell pepper and spices and cook the dog of of the peas, cabbage will be steamed with bacon drippings, all served with a huge pawn of smoking hot cornbread, oh, and, I am being told, a front shoulder of fresh venison stuffed with blue cheese and garlic.
I better get busy.

It all sounds good FG. Make sure you find time to rest today too. Remember, they say what you do on New Year's Day is what you'll be doing the rest of the year!! :D

It's been a great day! Football games, good food, family - and more games to come!
But I am sooooooo cold right now. I can't seem to warm up - I hate cold weather.
