Looks like is has taken over your desk!!!!!
Leave it on that towel, and I'm sure it will die soon...;)
Just kidding. Is it growing in the pond?

It came out of a person's pond that I work with.He can't seem to kill it.
It stayed green 14 days after being pulled out of the pond and put in a ziploc bag.
I was hoping somebody could ID it for me.

I would say either ditch-grass:
http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi/img_query?stat=BROWSE&query_src=photos_flora_com&where-genre=Plant&where-namesoup=Ditch-grass&rel-namesoup=matchphrase&title_tag=Ditch-grass
Or horned pondweed:
http://www.dnr.state.md.us/Bay/sav/key/horned_pondweed.asp
This got me started:
http://www.botgard.ucla.edu/html/botanytextbooks/lifeforms/aquaticplants/fulltextonly.html
Examples of thread-like, undivided leaves:
horned-pondweed (Zannichellia palustris)
ditch-grass (Ruppia cirrhosa, R. maritima)
quillwort (Isoetes spp.)
Pilularia americana
The quillwort and Pilularia did not fit your picture, so...

Could carp be a solution?

I've seen it, can't name it.
Cows will thin it out.

The bad thing about dealing with grass like this is that if you use a herbicide it might also kill all or a lot of the fish in the pond.

He's all ready dug all of this stuff out of his pond with a back-hoe and it came back. His cows won't touch the stuff.

Shazam!
I've got some of it too in the little pond by my Mother's house.
If I go to the Co-Op in the next couple of days I'll ask them if they know something.

BassCatter said he's got a Biologist buddy that can ID it.I still have this stuff in a zip-loc bag,I hope I don't get pulled over. That would be hard to explain.

heh, yeah, you will be in deep chit :D
No way to make that sound too convincing, lol.
But if they mess with you then you can go throw some of it in the cop's pond.

That looks like Bushy Pondweed - Najas guadalupensis.
Here (http://aquaplant.tamu.edu/database/submerged_plants/southern_naiad.htm)
Check out the 'Management Options' link.
Index Page (http://aquaplant.tamu.edu/index.htm) for that section of the site.
It could also be Baby Pondweed -Potamogeton pedctinatus.

It's going to be kinda costly, but we finally found the proper chemicals to take care of this grass.
Thanks for the help.

have you tried smoking it? If it will get you high, all the hippies will clean it up for you. Hell, just tell them it will get them high. Tell FB that if he eats it, it will make his sticker peck out so he can see it. Dat might work too. :D
BassCatter

aquatic glycophosphate should kill it. You can get it at the farmers market behind Carboy's dealership.
Fish-Bait
