View Full Version : Geocache's Hunting Game

Here's another scavenger hunting game. Instead of pictures, we'll hunt for Geocache's in our area (there are a lot of them). I think the rules can be simple:

We hunt individually or as teams.
We all hunt for the same cache. When you find it, follow the normal rules for geocaching. (sign the log, take an item, leave an item, clean up after yourself).
First one to find a cache gets to pick the next cache to hunt for.

We can use this web site to find caches in our area, http://www.geocaching.com/. Search by Hattiesburg, Petal, Purvis area zip codes. Lets keep the distance close for now, like within 20 miles or so.

Or we can make our own caches.

Anyone interested? If so, I'll post the first one to hunt for later this evening.

I was just thinking a 'free-for-all' type thing. First one to find it gets to pick the next one. I'm not sure how well doing it this way will work, so we'll adjust as we go.

This particular one has 'Hot Wheels' cars (the little die-cast cars that are pretty cool). So you can take one with you to trade for one that's already in the cashe if you want.

I LOVE Hot Wheels! I so wanna be the one that finds it, but this week is so not a good week for me to be on a quest. *sigh*

I can't wait to get back, and go. A week without a quest is no fun.

Which one are we doing next Friday? Geo'ing or looking for pictures?

On the 25th we're supposed to look for pics if that's what everyone wants to do....there hopefully will be enough of us to get it done rather quickly...it's supposed to be on USM campus and SMT said the pics might be up by Sunday...unless he has changed his mind or something comes up...

We can geocache anytime...it's the location and time frame, temperature and direction you want to take that you have to consider. I just don't want to go alone, and Katz really wants to go...so there it is!

Fairly certain. Most recent activity there was on July 2nd. Here's the link to info about the cashe (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=c5fc3f23-dc93-4970-a947-6bac4a111eed), with hints/spoiler.

I guess I'll just have to go find it myself.... ;)

Water AND Gatorade! It was HOT out there, but it was absolutely worth it, for the company, and for the owl we saw at the end of our journey.

However, I'm not liking the sunburn my face got right now.http://www.thepointofnoreturn.us/images/smilies/unsure.gif
