Thats a nice truck, have you also tried listing it with autotraders premier plan? I have always sold my vehicles through that. I probably had 1-200 calls for my bike with cycle trader, a branch off of them.

I considered putting it on autotrader and will probably do that this weekend.

I am thinking about a small to mid-size SUV. As much time as I spend on the road, I need something that gets better gas mileage. I have looked at a Jeep Patriot, Jeep Compass, Saturn Vue, Ford Edge, and Pontiac Torrent. I am kind of open right now to several vehicles, I just have to figure out which one will work best for me. The only real caviat is that I find something that gets around 25 MPG on the highway.

Tully, (don't shoot me CSG), look to see if you can find one with a 4 cylinder engine. I think the automobile market got caught with their shorts down on trying to provide the universal V-6 to everyone. Not a lot of power and sucks at gas mileage.

Tully if you are serious about this post you might enjoy a geo tracker. I am serious it was my first car, got over 30MPG , 5 speed, had 4wd , by default had some kind of skid plate at the bottom which made it like the greatest suv for mudding and going over low ground rocks. Also if it got stuck it was so late you could basically shake it loose. It could pull a uhaul and even have a loop style hitch built into the front. The front seats were comfortable , the only down side was the back seats , they were steal comfortable but mine didnt have back doors and the trunk was small! But the back seats folded down and them you could store alot because it was basically a box.
Also super easy to work on, like the engine is so small and has so much room mechanic work would be cheap. I hever had a problem out of mine, and took it mudding so much! I got it for 900 bucks and sold it for 1500 greatest investment of my life as far as fun goes.

Well, with deference to CSG (By the way CSG, I wouldn't discount a Nissan if I could find one in the price range and features I am looking for), I rarely if ever buy new vehicles. I generally look for late model, low mileage vehicles to let someone else pay for the first six-months to 1-year depreciation.
The Jeep Compass (http://www.jeep.com/en/2008/compass/) (or Patriot) has most of the features that I am looking for. Plenty of room for me up front, plenty of room for the kids in the back, an I-4 engine that is pretty lively, Sirius sattelite radio built-in, etc. My only concern is its towing capacity with the I-4. I don't plan on towing much other than a small utility trailer though.
I looked at a Pontiac Torrent yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Nice vehicle with the added feature that the rear seat adjusts back and forward and the backs of the rear seats recline. I have a couple of big boys that are a long way from being full grown and need to make sure that they have enough room.

Tully,
One note about the Jeep Patriot (I can't speak for the Compass):
One of the guys I work with has Jeep Patriot dealer car......I used it for a week to go recruiting in MS......it gets decent gas mileage, but has a really small tank.....If you're going to be doing a lot of traveling in it, you'll be stopping a lot to fill up.....During recruiting, I drive anywhere between 300-400 miles per day.....and I had to fill that truck up at least once a day....sometimes twice.....now, I do a lot of starting and stopping and I'm on a lot of back roads or, if I'm in Jackson or on the Coast, I sit in some traffic.....
But, I didn't find the Patriot got much better mileage than my F-150....The Patriot does probably get you a little better mileage if you're on the interstate or major highway more....I just thought I'd get more out of it.....

pfffffffffffft-
you consider the most depreciation-happy vehicles out there without looking at something that will hold it's value-
so therefore, i present to you, the Nissan Rogue:

(and don't worry- it only gets 23 in the city and 29 on the hwy with a 16 gallon tank.)

oh, and i can get you a brand new one with the Bose and sunroof for around 22-
or a base used one for around 18 or so-
then again i can get anything you want cheaper than anyone else- but why buy a used chrysler product? the unlimited powertrain warranty only lasts for the first owner, then the second owner only has the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty.
personally, i would buy a used murano. that will blow everything else that your looking at out of the water.

If I hadn't driven to Starkville this afternoon, I'd have taken you up on it. Offer again next week and I'll be there.
Though I can't afford to purchase the place... what if I just come by instead?

rogue has been on the US market for a year-
it uses most of the same under pinnings from the altima, murano, and sentra
