Oxford, Ole Miss, to host Presidential debate on September 26.
The Community Presidential Debate Steering Committee is finalizing plans for events on the Square on both the Friday night of the debate and the Thursday before. Meanwhile, the University of Mississippi is preparing its own debate-themed festival to be held in the Grove. A packed calendar of related events will get underway by the last week in August.
“We want to get the community excited about the fact we’re hosting this extremely important event,” said Hugh Stump, director of the Oxford Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We’re going to have a lot of the national spotlight on Oxford, and we hope everyone will help our town look the best it can.”
