HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - There are more signs of progress in the rebuilding of our beach front. The boardwalk project has reached Gulfport where crews are pulling up the broken boards Katrina left behind. In Pass Christian, crews are already pouring the cement for the new walkway.

I'm glad they're getting rid of some of our Katrina scars.

It will take a long time. Some scars are mental...like when you drive along the beach and talk about...what WAS there.

It'll be great to see this part of the mess cleaned up, even better to see the boardwalk back.

I just wish they had picked up some of the things that would have been easy to get up after a couple of years. Just brought it all back in your mind when you drove down Hwy. 90.

It will be so nice to have the boardwalk back. I will miss the old wooden one, but am so happy that they are building us a new one that can withstand the storms...
