Private equity firm KKR to go public: report

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. intends to become a public company, The Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site Sunday. The bulletin announcement cited "people familiar with the situation." Established in 1976, the company has an aggregate enterprise value of over $410 billion, according to KKR's Web site. In April, the firm took its unit KKR Financial Holdings LLC public.
