LONDON (MarketWatch) -- German consumer confidence is seen dropping to 2.1 points in August from a revised 3.6 points in July, its worst reading since June 2003, according to the polling group GfK. It blamed record highs in energy prices, stronger fears of recession and the persistence of the financial markets crisis.
