Energizer, Eveready file patent complaint against Spectrum

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Energizer Holdings Inc. and Eveready Battery Co. filed a complaint with the U.S. District Court Western District of Wisconsin against Spectrum Brands , Energizer said Monday. Energizer said it believes Spectrum Brands infringes on Energizer's U.S. patents by importing and selling primary lithium batteries in major U.S. retailers. The products are manufactured and imported from China under the Rayovac Lithium brand. Energizer is seeking damages and has asked the court for both a preliminary and permanent injunction against future infringing activity.
