Well it's about time.
SOUTHAVEN — Two teenagers are facing adult consequences following a shooting in a Southaven subdivision on Wednesday night.
Southaven Police Chief Tom Long said a 911 caller reported shots had been fired outside a home on Audubon Place in the Cherry Tree subdivision around 7:30 p.m. A white truck had reportedly pulled into the home’s driveway and been fired upon by people standing outside, he said.
The truck — which contained five passengers — fled the scene and later was stopped by police near Getwell and College roads. A bullet had grazed one of the passengers on the shoulder, but he was treated on the scene.
Eight people ranging in age from 14 to 18 were eventually detained for questioning Wednesday night.
Seventeen-year-old Brandon Christopher Humphrey and 14-year-old Joshua Jacob Starks were later charged, as adults, with aggravated assault and had their bonds set at $60,000.
Long said Humphrey and Starks allegedly both had guns - a revolver and semi-automatic pistol were recovered from the scene - and fired an estimated three to five shots total at the truck.
