The city of Hattiesburg is flooded....49 at usm is shut down. People have been struck by lightning around Jodi's bakery......it was a madhouse. Cars are stalled everywhere in the burg....

I've never seen that much lightning in my life. Be careful, turn on the news if you are north of the Burg.

I'm hunkered down underneath USM's football stadium. There's about 2 inches of water IN THE PRESSBOX. 49 is flooded, watch out.

Not washed in to one, thankfully. I was going around a curve, and a stoopid driver was coming around too fast, I hit the brakes, road was slick, and straight in to the ditch I went. By the grace of God, the ditch wasn't deep, I wasn't unharmed, and my car wasn't damage, but I feel a little http://www.thepointofnoreturn.us/images/smilies/wacko.gif, and I can still hear my tires squealing.

Hattiesburg Convelescent Center on Bay Street took on water from all but two doors. They have two courtyards, totally surrounded by the rooms. Water reached 12" deep there, and entered the entire bldg. ankle deep. Residents had to be moved to hallways. It was a madhouse.

The manholes on Bay street had water shooting out of them.

On Hall avenue, where it crosses the tracks, water was moving along the bank of the tracks from there back toward First Baptist Church like a river. The canal that crosses Hall was flooded. Also the yards adjacent to it. Also John street a few blocks away from Hall (one up from Dabbs).

Yes. They put them in hallways until the bulk of the water could be removed, allowing for the carpet people to come in and begin cleaning inside...
