I'm watching Twister and I thought my surround sound had taken it to the next level until I realized the wind really was kicking up outside. Looked at the radar....

Looks like bad weather from the northeast.

Power has flickered twice now.

Yeah. I just realized it's kicking up out there too.
Pretty good lightning display north of me.
I sat on the back porch and watched for a few minutes.

Loud thunder-boomers, now a light rain.

I guess I need to call the power company to check the lines; the power flickers whenever the wind really kicks up.

I slept through it. We have large pines down. DD had to be at work at 6am and said she dodged trees all the way to work at FGH.

The wind woke TKP and me up around midnight. Heard something blow over on the front porch...thought it was a palm I have out there. Got up this morning, it was the palm PLUS one of my rocking chairs, the ferns and it had broken a tree off down by the stream! Must have been worse than we thought. Now TKP has to get the chainsaw out...he's going to love that!

Nothing like thunder sounding like a bomb to make you sit straight up in your bed. I'm still trying to find my heart, and stick it back in my chest...it took off running too.

I guess it bypassed us because nothing looks different than yesterday evening that I can see looking out from the carport.

There is a depression in the making building over where I am right now and most likely it's strings of that you were seeing last night but I don't think it will get much worse today.

I was just going to sleep when it blasted through -- looked out front and saw one of my big crape myrtles bend double. Then pine cones started hitting my roof -- then the power flicked and the lightning started. I was AWAKE for quite a while! Haven't toured the yard yet.

This storm dropped down from the north/east. The guy doing the 10:00 weather on WDAM pointed it out as it was just NE of Laurel, then said it wouldn't affect us here. I don't think he has a clue.

I was without power from 11pm till 4:30am. (Kind of ironic) That was some sure rough stuff last night. Reminded me of Katrina a little bit.
