WMC in Memphis is reporting Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman was airlifted to a Memphis hospital after a serious car accident in Mississippi.
Mississippi Highway Patrol said the "Dark Knight" star was in an accident around 11:30 last night on Hwy 32.
Officers say the 1997 Nissan Maxima he was driving went off the road, overcorrected and flipped several times.
Freeman and a female passenger had to be extracted by rescuers and flown to a Memphis hospital.
