Hey Guys,
I just wanted to pass on this info:
Mississippi Vaccine Information Center: Jackson Chapter
August Meeting - "Vaccines and the Brain"
Where: Flowood Library, 103 Old Fannin Road, Flowood, MS, 39232
(601) 919-1911 for directions
When: MONDAY, AUGUST 18th, 6:30pm. Snacks provided.
The Jackson Chapter of MVIC will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 18th at the Flowood Library on Old Fannin Rd.
The topic of this meeting will be "Vaccines and the Brain." Our guest speaker is Dr. Russell Blaylock, a nationally recognized neurosurgeon, health practitioner, author and lecturer. He has authored 3 books on nutrition and wellness. He previously served as a clinical assistant professor of neurosurgery at UMMC in Jackson, MS, and is currently a visiting professor of biology at the Bellhaven College, in Jackson. He will be speaking on the current childhood vaccine schedule and the effects of over-vaccination on the brain. There will be a question and answer period. We will also be discussing ways to further expand our organization in order to bring about change in the current Mississippi vaccine exemption policies.
Children welcome and refreshments served. Suggested Donation is $1.00 per family and will go toward the cost of future meetings and events.

I know, I'm just having fun today. I've actually never forgotten our anniversary, or, her birthday, no yet anyways. But, the whole vaccination thing could prove to be an excuse if/when I do.

Maybe you should have attended the meeting and Dr. Blaylock could have written you a doctor's excuse.

Well, considering the infant shot schedule increased from 10 shots (in the 80's) to 36+ shots (now) and the shots contain neurotoxins which can be cumulative in the brain...and over time autism and other neurological defects have risen dramatically, I venture to say it's a big concern of many parents and experts these days. Wow, that was a long sentence. Sorry. :D

Some of those shots may have been combo shots, which means it's more than one vaccine. (That's not even counting the ones that previously came together such as MMR and DTaP.)
Generally (this is the CDC recommended schedule that we follow in MS):
birth - hep b (they'll give this at the hospital unless you refuse it.)
2 months - hep b, rotovirus, DTaP, Hib, PCV, Polio
4 months - rotovirus, DTaP, Hib, PCV, Polio
6 months - hep b, rotovirus, DTaP, Hib, PCV
12-15 mo - Hib, PCV, Polio, MMR, Chicken Pox, Hep A (These may be given at 2 different appointments)
18 months- DTaP, Flu, Hib
19-23 mo - hep b, Hib
This is just stopping at 23 months, and already the count is 28 vaccines (not counting the previously combined shots such as MMR which is actually 3 separate vaccines in one.) Once a child reaches kindergarden age, he will have received more than 36 vaccines. This is an increase of more than 260%. (We did not have epidemic outbreaks in the 80's, so why the dramatic increase in vaccines? This is my group's basic concern.)
We are giving more shots now than ever before, without any proof of the short or long-term safety.
My organization does not promote non-vaccination; we are for safer vaccines and a safer vaccine schedule.

Well, considering I got only 18 RSVP's, I was quite pleased when more than 60 people showed up. We almost didn't fit in the little room in the library! Some of the media was there including one of the tv stations.
Dr. Blaylock was wonderful. He gave some tips on safer vaccination, such as giving zinc and Vit. C before and after shots (statistically less children have reactions after these are given,) and spreading the shots out.
There is definitely a big concern with too many shots too soon among a growing number of experts. From age 0-2 yrs a child's brain is going through rapid development, and some vaccine ingredients process through the brain (sometimes even causing brain inflammation...hence the fever children get occasionally after shots.) Some children have a big problem processing out the ingredients from their brain...tens of thousands of reports have been made in recent years of children dying or becoming brain damaged from a set of vaccines. (google VAERS and Nat'l Vaccine Injury Compensation Fund to learn more about this.)
Of course this will be nothing more than a controversy until adequate studies are done (there's actually not a single safety study on the questionable ingredients such as formaldehyde and aluminum.)
I'm basically leading the organization seeking safer vaccine schedules and broader exemption policies (so that parents can opt of some or all vaccines if they so choose.) Here's my website: http://parents.meetup.com/465/
We're new but growing. Please join our efforts if this issue concerns you!

I'm glad you had a good turnout. You know my earlier comment was a joke. Medicine, especially when it comes to my kids, is a serious matter. I applaud you for taking a good look at such matters and trying to promote more/better research.

Oh, I knew you were joking...I was joking back with you. It's such a hot-topic controversy, that some comic relief is always welcome. :bunny:
