Read this article for responses of the presidential candidates to Bhutto's assasination.
How do you think the situation in Pakistan will impact the U.S. Presidential campaigns?

This puts National Security and the War on Terror right back in the American voter vernacular in my opinion. Such discourse does not bode well for the Democrats.

It would be foolish to say that it will not affect the Presidential race. But, to what extent, now that is the question.
Me thinks that the Dem's will not focus on it much. Sure, they'll hop on camera and say she was a good lady, etc. But in a few weeks, they'll be boasting about something else. About how we should put 'wingtips' on the ground and not boots, more negotiations and try to pay off some countries leaders' in hopes of putting at least a temporary stop to the violence. But, it will return. There will never be peace in the mid-east until the end.

And it's a long time til November elections - I would not be surprised at all to see more terrorist activity before then. The Taliban is claiming responsibility for this and they will want to capitalize on the outcome in Pakistan.

True, and I think that maybe, the terrorist will do more damage overseas. In doing so, this will give the Dem's some 'ammo' in saying, "Hey, see what Bush has gotten us into? Let's pull out and peace will come." You know the terrorists want a Democrat in office over here, because they're 'softer' on them.
