GREENWOOD – Leflore County Humane Society’s president says Greenwood should adopt a tough ordinance restricting pit bulls and Rottweilers to prevent their migration into the city limits.
The Leflore County Board of Supervisors passed the restriction on pit bulls in July, and Aubrey Whittington said it was a good starting point.
She says the city has an ordinance against vicious animals, but it doesn’t specifically name pit bulls or Rottweilers.
Council President David Jordan said the council would act quickly on amending the city’s ordinances to cover pit bulls and Rottweilers.
