One of America's "Top Colleges"
Since 1890, Millsaps, an independent, national liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, has consistently ranked in the top tier of national liberal arts academic institutions.
Now, it has been selected through a faculty and staff survey of best practices and policies, conducted by The Chronicle of Higher Education, as one of the "Great Colleges to Work For."
That's not so surprising, according to some of the 400 staff and faculty that work there.
Millsaps was recognized in three categories: tenure, clarity and process with clear requirements for tenure; career development, research and scholarship, with giving adequate time for scholarly pursuits; and supervisor or department chair relationship, with supervisors making expectations clear and soliciting ideas.
