Most people that I've seen driving unsafe are using phones. People pass me then pull in front of me and slow down...change lanes on me too soon....or be in front of me and just start slowing down...backing up traffic....all this on the HWY...everyone doing something with a phone. People in town driving and using phones will sideswipe me if I'm not watching...or just plain change lanes toward me. Less than a week ago I was almost hit by someone right here in Brooklyn that were talking on the phone. They pulled away from an intersection making a turn and almost side swiped me...I had to swerve...all the time they were laughing and talking on a phone...

This scares the fool out of me. I had a student last year tell me about texting on her way down to the Coast, and I had a hissy fit. I made her swear in front of the whole class never to do it again (didn't realize at the time how widespread a practice it had become.)

Well, no encounters with idiots. I guess all the officers traveling to the coast for the funeral of the Gulfport officer that lost his life last week kept them off the road. I did get chills seeing a brigade of 6 motorcycle officers pass me by...we Southern Belles love a man in uniform.
