BATON ROUGE, LA. — Louisiana will hand out $20 million in generators to quickly restore power to gas stations, pharmacies and grocery stores — essential services for thousands of evacuees returning after Hurricane Gustav’s destruction.

Uh, is it just me or is it not the gubbermints responsiblity to directly provide such?

at least they are trying to get the place up and running to let the people back in-
if the taxpayers need help, at least use the money to help taxpayers.
probably tho LA will either collect the generators back or charge the users the cost-

My brother lives in Port Allen,(west of B.R.) and is an administrator at LSU he said the power is as always is being turned on slow but sure.
LSU is back on community power.
LSU's power can run independently from the rest of the city.
The entire area took a hard hit.

Not, but it's probably more cost effective than trying to provide the services directly that those businesses provide. Not to mention quicker!

Jindal is a good administrator. Not your average bear.
People like Haley Barbour, Bobby Jindal and Sarah Palin would bring a lot of reality back to this country.
