will it be as fun as I heard the jackson fair was? I didn't go to it because of how far it was, but we go to laurel alot so this might be ok for me to go.

I grew up in Laurel and it was a tradition to get a date and go to the fair. I continued with my kids, but now they are too old to be interested, really. I usually go and eat my way thru it. Corndog, steak sammich, candied apple, and 2 or 3 of those chocolate and nut covered ice cream bars on a stick (can't remember what they are called). Then sample some of the kids cotton candy!

Anyone remember the days when they were "freak shows"? Also, riding the go karts and motorcycles in the big wooden cylinder, on the vertical walls? Those were the days!

I remember the days of going to the State Fair in Jackson. It was always so much fun. I loved playing the games, and could ride anything. Now I can't ride just anything.:aarggggghhhh:

I miss my nephew being young, and taking him. One of my favorite memories of time spent with him was taking him to the SF. He was a wee thing, and was kind of scared of getting on to the kiddie roller coaster, and with all seriousness, he looked at me, and said, 'what if it makes my heart tickle, Aunt M?'. That was one of those frog in the throat moments. http://www.thepointofnoreturn.us/images/smilies/wub.gif

We might go either this Thursday night, or Saturday night. We're thinking Thursday would be less crowded.

well, tonight was the last night of the fair. I was there 9 of the 10 days. My daughter had a booth . Her booth is called Stephanie's . Really good food. I do remember the days at the fair when I was growing up. It was so much fun. We would even get out of school half a day . I lived in Ellisville. My mother would go with us to the fair. We would ride the Laurel Ellisville bus. It was so much fun. If we could only go back for one last time in the good old days.
