Welcome to our forum. We are glad you found us and we are glad you are here.
Please act responsibly while here. There are a lot of good folks here, some old friends and some new ones.
We are hoping this becomes your personal coffee shop and that Mississippi Forums becomes your new E-Home, please help manage it.

A lot of thought was put into all the forums you will see here with a sincere desire to provide something for everyone.

There are many site Moderators here and all are ready to help you in any way that they can.
Suggestions are always welcome and your opinions, thoughts and sharing all of them with us is the true essence of a forum.
Moderation of this site does indeed involve the Forum of all the Moderators, no one person can make decisions based on emotion or personal preferences.

In the event of outright spamming, flaming, trolling, continued disruption or gross breach of the site rules however any Moderator here will act with haste to neutralize and contain a problem; your thread or posts and possibly your membership could be in jeopardy so act accordingly and as a good citizen.

The site Moderators are here to help with options within the site, questions you may have about maneuvering about the site or to provide any guidance to a member concerning their citizenship.

We are looking forward to your thoughts and the life that you share with us here. This site is not geared to the counting of posts. Here we focus more on the quality than the quantity. Please make yourself at home and again, we are glad you are here.

The above is the sunny side of internet life but those of us that have been on the internet for any length of time know that there can be conflicts.

We will ask you during your visits to remain open to other member's ideas; sometimes they will not be your ideas but could be worthy of merit. Very seldom will you be able to talk someone into your opinion but perhaps you will gain from another person's perspective.

* Often the written word is not at once understood in the way you meant it and likewise the read word may not appear to you in the manner it was typed.

If misunderstandings occur, please take a moment and think about this and help manage and control any conflicts here.
On board arguements are disruptive and unwelcome; baiting, taunting and flaming are juvenile and most distasteful. Sometimes we all have to agree to disagree.
If you need to continue a discussion somewhere that requires a little emotional privacy please use the Private Message option.

Please make yourself at home and again, we are glad you are here.

MississippiForums.org Rules

The people of Mississippi Forums have worked hard to create a place where all may participate in enjoyable and civil conversation, and we thank all of you for being a part of this growing community.

In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact one of the Moderators.

The Mississippi Forums Team

We’re sure that you expect people to treat you fairly, and we believe in enforcing such fairness as a policy. Therefore, the forum rules listed below cannot be modified by or for individual users.

General Rules:

The Golden Rule: While civil debate and lively discussion is both fine and encouraged, the community will not tolerate personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Respect toward other subscribers is required at all times. Personal disparagement (insulting another participant’s intellect, physical appearance, personal habits, etc.), libel, slander, or any other form of direct or indirect "personal attack" are not permitted. This includes the revealing of private and/or personal information of forum members without that member's consent. Messages that call for illegal action or might result in harm to others are not allowed on this forum. Deliberate disruption of forum discussion, harassment of other users, attacks on specific groups represented in the forum, offensiveness in subject matter or diction (choice of words), and/or disrespect for the forum rules will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to edit or remove posts that violate these terms without notice.

What the $@^%#!?!?!: In general, we accept language that is commonly heard on network television primetime programming. Gratuitous obscenity and/or explicit or implicit descriptions of sex do not belong in this forum. Messages containing vulgar language or profanity are not allowed.

You have the right to remain silent: Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) nonsense posts, or the like. Disrupting conversation for the purpose of derailing debate and conversation is not allowed.

I can’t hear you: Every user is free to read and respond to every message on the board. If you dislike another forum member, you are free to ignore him or her, but not to insist that he or she not write to you on the board.

Can you hear me now?: Multiple or repeated posting for the purpose of increasing your post count is not allowed. Your status at Mississippi Forums is not advanced or improved through your post count once you have achieved full member status.

I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you: Messages and library files from other forums, private e-mail, messages from private sections such as the forum staff section, private messages sent through MississippiForums.org, and other privileged information may not be posted in public without the specific written permission of the original author. Messages from this forum may not be reposted elsewhere without the author’s permission.

Come one, come all!: Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.

Please stay on the line; someone will be with you shortly: Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts. For style changes and general 'how-to' questions this should be 24 hours. For specific troubleshooting issues, use 12 hours as a guideline.

A place for everything and everything in its place: Please be respectful of the various topic areas available on this site. Threads that are created in the wrong topic area will be moved.

Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?: Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.

One per customer, please: Multiple registrations are prohibited and are grounds for immediate account deletion.[/B]

Starving artists have to eat, too: Mississippi Forums respects copyright law. Copyrighted material may not be used here without the specific written permission of the copyright holder. Brief "fair use" excerpts are allowed as exceptions, but the staff must make final determinations of where "fair use" ends and infringement begins. Roughly, "fair use" allows less than 10% of the total of the work copied, or 500 words, whichever is less. Remember, even a "fair use" excerpt should be properly attributed. Standard sourcing for post content other than a member's personal experience or opinion should also include a link to the original material, a footnote to the site or author and at the very least a verbatim copy hopefully with a footnote.

The fine print: While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way. We will endeavor to ensure that rules are enforced uniformly and consistently with all members, regardless of status or standing.

Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:

Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it follows the other guidelines contained within the community rules.

Promotional text for a commercial product or service is ok, provided there are no price(s) of product(s) or service(s) listed.

A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial and does not contain product(s) and/or service(s) is allowed, provided the site is not sexual, profane, or promote illegal activities.

Duplicate links to the same URL in a signature are not allowed.

We also have some rules that apply for certain forums:

While we will make every effort to create a family friendly site, this forum section will be the exception. Please refrain from making NSFW posts in any section other than this one.
