I am have the worst luck with these types of bulbs. I bought some from Home Depot about a year ago and 5 out of the 7 pack have went out. I have tried calling the consumer hotline listed on the bulb but have yet to talk to a real person. The pack says "7 years of life".
BS.:furious3:
These light do save power but you lose money if you have to replace these every few years.
Anybody else tried these bulbs out with problems?

yes, you're right, they have to last long time to save money. Take the basterds back to HD and raise hell like I do when they put a screwing on me. So far, I've had good luck with the ones I have but they are GE 60W equivalent (13W) or some such..and I don't remember where I got them.
I had planned to buy more for my barn but not if they are lemons.

I have had a couple fail within a year or so of purchase. Another problem I have is that the hundred watt versions are to big for some of my ceiling fixtures and the 60 watts don't put off enough light in these areas.
