Just in case you haven't heard the news, the new Harley-Davidson motorcycles don't come with carburetors anymore and the big block bikes also come with 6 speed transmissions.
The carburetors that have been replaced with electronic fuel injection were first viewed and pretty much complained about but sentiment now from the folks that have been riding them for awhile is that it's the only way to go. Cold weather start up problems are considered by most to be a bad nightmare from the past with the electronic fuel systems.
Another bright spot is that the Sportsters are now equipped with rubber mounted engines. I wish they would follow this up by doing it to the Softails too.
Your thoughts?

I think trying to get a smoother ride, get some smoother running and keep up with Big Dog, etc.

I agree with the smoother ride thing. Sportsters are not good trip bikes...not even short trips...as they were pre-change.

I have yet to ride a bike that feels good, I walk bow legged for hours everytime I get off a bike. Slim the seat down by golly!

The only reason V-rods have solid rims instead of spokes is to keep the real bikers from jamming sticks into the spokes as they ride by.LOL
I had an old biker in Texas tell me that,I just had to pass it on.

I think these changes have been in effect for several years. We have an 06 and it has rubber mounts and efi so I know the changes were completed before then. Who else rides harleys?

I've riden a Police RoadKing at times, but it's hard when your office is your car and all your crap is in it. If I had to have a Harley, it would be a VRod. If I have to pay for it, it will be a Hayabusa.
