Back up Anti virus

I use Avast Anti virus, is there away to back up the data files? So I have it up to date when I reinstall it. No I haven't reformat yet....I told yall I hate it!...

I hate being without protection the first few days. It takes days and days to get all my security updated on a dial up line.
